Whole Body Vibration machines
Around 40 years ago, whole body vibration technology was discovered. In the 1960’s, a Russian scientist, working with astronauts, discovered this technology and perfected it. Every astronaut faces a serious problem when in space due to lack of gravitational force. The problem is that the bone tissue and surrounding muscle tissue deteriorates and causes major problems upon return to Earth.
Vladimir Nazarov, the head scientist, was researching the effects of vibration training on the astronauts’ bodies. He discovered that after a training program, the astronauts suffered a lot lesser problems in space, and bone density loss was prevented. Numerous other benefits were also found in users of vibration machines.
Results shown by astronauts made some companies think about implementing this technology on a wider scale. Whole Body Vibration machines made their way into everyday lives in commercial gyms, and later on – at home. One can easily purchase such an exercise machine and enjoy the results shown true for astronauts.
This technology is most beneficial to athletes. In training, every athlete suffers certain setbacks, including unpreventable injuries. A very common one is ACL rupture, recovery from which can be drastically sped up by vibration training.
The basis for the machines is in Rhythmic Neuromuscular Stimulation, or RNS. This technology makes one’s muscles contract at a high rate to counteract vibration stimulation. This ensures increased blood flow throughout the body and therefore faster muscle recovery and detoxification.
